Dzaleka Pen Pal Program

Mission

The Pen-Pal Program is built to foster meaningful relationships between people currently experiencing displacement in Dzaleka Refugee Camp and people passionate about humanitarianism. Pals wills learn from each other by sharing stories, such as talking about daily experiences and past experiences, interesting events, favorite foods, hobbies, etc. The program is a partnership between Refugee Outreach Collective and the Emmanuel Foundation that connects people across borders, spreading and magnifying our values of friendship and compassion.


steps to get involved

Requirements to participate: A mobile phone (iOS, Android, or Windows) with data capabilities.

1. Submit an application below.

2. Wait for a follow up communication from ROC.

3. A code of conduct and contract will be sent to you. Read it and sign, and download WhatsApp!

4. Establish boundaries with your pal using the provided boundary questions.

5. Get to know your pal!
